Schaeffer House was built by F.W.C Schaeffer in 1900. The house is a showpiece to his profession as an architect and he became the City’s Architect in 1909. Each room within the house is thematically presented, visitors are taken back to the late 1800s to early 1900s. In the Drawing Room, Bedroom, Dining Room, Library, Nursery and Kitchen are artefacts of national significance. Displays of silverware, china, glassware, rare books are on show in many of the rooms.
